The 90° plate stack tilter / sorter is an industrial solution designed to facilitate the handling, sorting and replacement of defective plates within a stack. A Plate Tilter Designed for Sorting and Replacement
The plate stack tilter allows a complete load to be tilted in order to facilitate access to the individual plates. Once the stack has been tilted, the operator can directly access the plates and easily remove or replace a defective product.

The manipulator design can be adapted to the dimensions, weight and type of load according to the specific requirements of each application.
Operation of the Plate Tilter / Sorter
The machine is simple and safe to operate. The load is loaded using a forklift truck or overhead crane and is then secured between the hydraulic clamping plates.
The production cycle includes the following operations: Loading of the plate stack. Loading of the tilter using a forklift truck. Resetting of the safety devices. Closing of the clamping plates. Clamping of the stack with adjustable pressure according to the product. Tilting of the load through 90°. Sorting and replacement of plates.
Once the stack has been positioned at 90°, the plates can be opened to the extent required by the operator. The plates are then accessible at operator height, making inspection and handling easier.
The operator can therefore: Identify defective or non-conforming plates. Remove a damaged plate. Replace the defective plate. Carry out sorting and quality control operations. Returning the load to its original position
After the intervention:

The plates can be adapted to the characteristics of the load and the dimensions of the plates to be handled.
Loading and Unloading
Loading is carried out at a height of approximately 450 mm above floor level, exclusively using a forklift truck or overhead crane.
The polished rear wall facilitates the sliding of the plates during loading and unloading operations, while reducing the risk of marking or damaging the products.
Electro-Hydraulic System
The tilter is equipped with an electro-hydraulic power unit providing the various machine movements.

The machine is operated manually using a maintained-pressure push-button control box mounted on a pedestal, allowing the operator to control the different stages of the cycle.
Adjustable Hydraulic Clamping
The clamping pressure can be adjusted according to the product, from 30 to 150 bar.
A pressure relief valve prevents the preset pressure from being exceeded, allowing the clamping force to be adapted to the characteristics of the stack being handled.
Machine Safety
Operator safety is a key element in the design of the plate tilter / sorter.
The equipment is fully enclosed by a 2,000 mm-high steel mesh safety enclosure.
The machine is equipped with: A light curtain at the front to secure the forklift loading area. A side light curtain protecting operator access areas. Two secured access points allowing loading and unloading from the front and from one side.
These safety devices ensure secure tilting, sorting and plate replacement operations.
A Design Adapted to Plate Handling
The support plate for the returned stack is specially designed to facilitate handling operations and protect operators.
It is manufactured without any protrusions or sharp edges, helping to reduce risks during operations on the plates.
Its surface has a fine polished finish without paint, ensuring smooth sliding of the plates while preventing any marking or damage to the products.
Once the stack has been tilted, its height also allows operators to work at an ergonomic height, making inspection, sorting and plate replacement operations easier.
